This was my tour group... the whole thing was in Hindi...
I feel lucky to have made it home... it was the most confusing thing evAR
Mughal Arches
The Taj was built as a gift for the King's wife (see the hearts!) who died young
(in her late 30's)
Her tomb is directly center line inside the Taj... you can see all the way to
the front gates
from her resting place... and the King is by her side (she has a better view
though)
There are quite a few optical illusions... everything is perfectly symetrical...
after its construction the King did not want anything to be built like this
again...
so the big debate is over whether or not the workers hands were chopped off

Security is so tight here... they took away my cellphone (which wasn't getting
service anyways)
But ... I took footage inside the gates... dun dun DUN... oh yeah... I'm a rebel...
I know...
The little white arches on top of the entryway were placed there
one a year during the construction of the Taj Mahal (22 I think)
I was led away from the tour group by a guide who gave
me a hook up on a few Taj knick-knacks
Then we were running through these streets so that we wouldnt miss the bus back
home :-)
After the Red Fort and the Taj Mahal... I was crammed back on the big
tour bus.. no air-con...
Below are shots from the streets by the two temples we visited... the first
one was by the Kali temple
I was denied cause I had electronics in my bag... still fun to walk around the
town.... Then at the next one...
I ended up sitting on a marble floor at the Krishna Temple (In Vrindavan- birth
place of the Hindu God Krishna)
surrounded by a sermon of chanting worshippers... they fed me holy rock candy...
it was awesome
I left my camera in the bus that time... and then I see everyone taking pictures-
DAMN! Sux not knowing Hindi
I'm learning a few words... chalo, bas, achcha, theek hai, bagal, sabji, pani,
roti, kilometer, mobile/cellphone :-)
