Flew over Grand Canyon...hiked Zion...Tubin on Lake Powell...Explored Bryce and are on our way north!

We took a 6 mile hike today to a nice waterfall. We're staying in a very rural area of
Southern Utah called Boulder. We're in a beautiful littlelodge over looking the valley.

Just arrived in Idaho Falls, for the last couple days we went to visit Tom and Judy and their son Tommy and his nice family near Salt Lake. Had a great mexican dinner, visited the largest copper mine in the world, Lava Hot Springs (Idaho). Perfect, beautiful weather, hot minerals springs, a massage, playing in the pool and tubing on the river which runs thru town. Really Fun fun fun…. |

Hot air balloon ride sunrise morning of the 4th - perfect weather overlooking the
Grand Teton Mountains and "Music in the Hole" concert in Jackson Hole Wyoming 4th of July.

Deadwood South Dakota
We had two great days in Yellowstone, Old Faithful, mud pots,
steaming caldrons, bison, elk, moose, water falls and more.

We spent 2 days in the incredible Black Hills of South Dakota and saw Mt Rushmore, The Crazy
Horse
Monument, Bear Country and the Needles Hwy. Today we toured the Badlands National
Park. I have never seen anything like it, eerie dried up mud pillars coming out of the grass lands....
I'm just glad I'm not one of the pioneers trying to cross the prairie in a covered wagon....Now we're
in Wall, South Dakota.... marketing at its finest. The local drug store owners in 1936 started
marketing their little store on billboards along roads all around the US. "Free Ice Water on
HWY 90". The store now is a block long and has every tourist thing you can think of
including books, clothes, food, rock shop, cowboy boots, jewelry, etc... the store
employs
one third of the work force in Wall. Tomorrow we head off across Iowa....

We visited the Grand Harbor Resort & Waterpark for a day of splashing adventures in the indoor waterpark and arcade.
Then we went to the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium to learn about the
Mississippi River and see the
creatures that live in the mighty river. Later Nick went on a scavenger hunt and did arts and crafts while Leslie and
I went downtown to listen to an outdoor Jazz concert. All in all a very nice stop over in Iowa.

Fun day sightseeing in Chicago ….planetarium, and brazilian dinner it was sooooo goood

From the Skydeck at the Sears Tower we looked out over all of Chicago. At 1,353 feet, the
Skydeck is the highest observatory in Chicago (our ears popped several times riding the
elevator up 110 floors. ) Then we went and had World Famous Chicago Pizza at Giordano’s.

We went to visit a friend Chelsea and I met at the Optimum Health Institute.
David lives part time in Wall South Dakota. David’s grandfather homesteaded 160 acres at the turn
of the century and now he and his father live on the ranch. They have built two small planes
and we went flying to see the local sites. Very Fun. Thanks David for the great hospitality!
