| Academically trained in mass communication,
film & video production, Advertising & Public Relations and traditional
media, Vikrant is an alumnus of prestigious institutes like M.C.R.C, Jamia
Millia Islamia University and St. Stephens College, Delhi University. Currently working as a lecturer & coordinator in the mass communication department of the one of the oldest and the finest women’s college of India-Indraprastha College in Delhi University, Vikrant is actively into filmmaking (documentaries and corporate films). Previously a correspondent for Zee News and Content Editor/ Writer for zeenews.com, Vikrant was the Associate Producer for the highly successful breakfast programme, “Morning Zee” for Zee TV an international satellite entertainment channel, and a women-oriented programme called Women's Hour for Zee News. Vikrant also produced a special feature segment on Morning Zee called "Against All Odds”, where the focus was on the story of social activists and crusaders. Vikrant has had a brief stint with an MNC called BRAMWEL as their media manager and area manager. Vikrant is a visiting faculty in Lady Shriram College (Delhi Univ.), NIFT, paper-setter cum examiner at Delhi University and was the HoD for Journalism in Women's Polytechnic, New Delhi. As the Deputy Director (hony.) of the National Institute of Chhau and Folk dances (an NGO for cultural promotions, a member of CIOFF and ICCR), Vikrant has participated in various Festivals of India. International Folklore Festivals in Europe (International Folklore Festival DE ISSOIRE, France, 1999), Canada (International Folklore Festival at Drummondville, Canada in 1998) and Thailand (Festival of India in Thailand, 1995) as a Chhau dancer. As an event manager, organized folk festivals and various cultural events he has made documentaries and corporate films, and has a music/ song album to his credit “A collection of Chhau & Nagpuri song and dance music”, released by the British music company ARC. |
